'Tis the season....... the start of the Christmas festivities!!!!! Such a fun time of the year! Last night, Tuesday, was our office Christmas party! We did work a full day, but at 5 o'clock, we closed up shop, and headed to a local conference center (The Rainwater Conference Center).
It was a GREAT evening. Nice to mingle with the people you work with in a relaxed, joyous mood setting. There was a buffet dinner with delicious food selections, a slide show of pictures, and faint Christmas music in the background. We also played the White Elephant gift exchange game. To participate, you simply brought an inexpensive gift and drew a number. When it was your turn, you either picked a gift from the gift table, or you could STEAL from someone else! I was #183! That's right #183!!!! So, I was one of the last to be able to pick. I had my eye on a box of chocolates!!!! And, yes, when it was my turn, I TOOK THEM!!!! Did I feel bad?!? NOPE! IT IS CHOCOLATE!!!! LOL! :D Anyway, I had 2 others come to my table to try to steal the chocolates...... when asked about them, I put on my best poker face, and claimed someone else had them!!!! HA! HA! Confused them!! So, yes, that is why I posed with the chocolates in the above picture that would make it to Facebook later.... he! he! :D
I will say, after staying out late (or late for me), I chose to sleep in this morning which meant 3.5 miles were ran in the evening on my treadmill. UGH! I am so a morning runner..... so hard to run in the evening! But, at least I could mark those miles off my Marathon training plan!!! This was the second day of missing my morning run! Monday, I ran my miles during lunch! Tomorrow morning, I plan on setting my alarm and jumping on the treadmill bright and early!
I did jump at buying the above snowflake compression hose from the Crazy Compression website....... they were 50% off!!! SCORE! And, I have a "Frozen" theme run coming up that I plan to wear them in!!!!!
Ok, the end of the year has caught me off guard!!!! Usually, the day after Thanksgiving, My family and I put our Christmas tree up.... hasn't happened yet! Also, usually before Thanksgiving, I have our Christmas cards ordered..... haven't even started to make on the shutterfly site! I don't have a bunch of Christmas gifts to buy, but usually by now, I have at least started...... haven't bought the first gift for anyone! December 1st, Elvis the Elf usually makes his appearance in our house...... he hasn't arrived yet!!! And my son has been asking when he might show up!!!! YIKES!!!
Today was my half day to work, therefore, I picked my son up from school, and we went to store, and bought this little tree (the above picture)! He had a blast decorating it! It will do until this weekend when I can play catch up...... plus, it gives him his own personal tree that he is quite proud of!
My son was sick the day of school pictures, therefore, his picture was taken today on make up picture day! He picked out his own outfit! It is the one that he was to wear on the actual picture day at the beginning of the year!
The picture below is right after I dropped him off at school..... he always looks back, and stops to wave or blow me a kiss..... I caught this picture just as he had turned..... all I see in this picture is my baby that looks like he is almost on his way to college.......... ok, he is only in First grade and college is a LONG way off, but honestly, it seems like he went from learning to sit up and walk to being in First grade! WHERE IS MY BABY??!! It is bittersweet! You love they are growing and developing into their own person, but yet, they seem to be growing too fast!
I am excited about celebrating the holidays, and I look forward to all the things that 2016 has in store ........ for one thing, I hopefully will complete my FIRST EVER FULL Marathon annnnnddddd, I will have news to share pertaining Zooma Women's Race Series....... stay tuned!!!!!!!
Have a great evening! UNTIL LATER.................
