Today, I welcome REST day!!!! Fridays for me are a days of much needed rest. The week long, day to day responsibilities catch up with me at the end of the week....... so, I sleep in for an extra hour..... so nice!
For me, my body needs a day of rest. Just like the above picture states, my body seems to restore itself and get stronger with incorporating a rest day into my training program. Especially now, with marathon training and logging more miles each week than what I am used to!!! I am sure there are some people that can run everyday. Me? I am just not one of them!!!
As many of you know, I attended most of my high school years (9th-11th grade) in Belgium.... SHAPE, Belgium to be exact! I have a friend who actually teaches at the high where we attended!!! How cool is that?!? Anyway, she directs a Turkey Trot each year and always snags my son and I a T-shirt!!!!! Pretty Awesome!!! I love it! Just wish I could hop a plane and run it one year!!!! :D
This weekend is jammed pack of activities!!! Number one priority is go see Santa and get a Christmas tree put up!!!! Oh, and I need to make travel arrangements for Elvis the Elf to come visit at our house.... my son keeps asking when he is coming..... HA! HA! :D
Well, I have to get going...... will write more later when I have time... UNTIL LATER!

Do you incorporate REST days into your training plans?
On your rest days, what do you do? Cross train? Or do absolutely NOTHING?!
