Sunday= Long run day! Today, I had planned on 9miles and end up with 9.25miles with an average pace of 10:45. There was unexpected hill work that did slow the pace for a bit and work the legs extra hard!!!! I will get to that!!! Today was pretty good weather... still in the 70s, but there was somewhat of a breeze for most of the run. Of course, by the end of the run, the sun had came up, and with that, the heat/humidity. But, I am thankful for the cooler appearing weather to begin with.... still would like the weather to be much cooler.
Anyway, I ran with a couple of the local "elite" runners that have a group with the name of "danger runners." Well, about 6 miles into the run, we were passing a parking garage of a local college when the suggestion to run it was made!!!! Holy cow!! Talk about incline?!?! LOL!!! This picture above is from the top!!!!!!!!!! The suggestion was made with those famous words following... "It will be fun!!!" LOL! It actually was a fun, impromptu decision......... definitely added to the work out......
In this picture, we were approaching the final incline of the garage!!!!! And so ready to run back out of the garage which would be all down hill! :) I can't remember how many levels there were total! I was just focusing on keeping on!
This is a picture from inside the garage, although it it kinda blurry..... but the incline can be appreciation!
After the garage running, the following picture sums it up for me.... LOL!!!! If I hadn't been with other runners, I probably would have just laid down on the ground!!!! HA! HA!
But I didn't, and in fact, I was able to get a picture of me at the top of the garage half way smiling! LOL! :)
When I got into the car, I knew it was going to be a good run when the best ever one hit wonder came on the 80s XM station!!!!!! Can't help but crank up the volume, sing, and dance in your seat!!! :)
