Today was the James Eunice Legacy 5K. The proceeds from the race go directly to the James Eunice Scholarship Fund. From my understanding, the Eunice Family has presented 47 scholarships in James' name. So who wouldn't want to support this local run?!?
It was HOT!!! and HUMID!!!!! Going from much cooler temps of winter to the hotter temps of spring here in South Georgia took a toll on me! At the start of the race, it was already 68 degrees!! Yeah, definitely not a PR on this race. Still awaiting official times to be posted.
Runners getting registered!!!! :)
My friend Arlene (on left of me when looking at picture) and Tammy (on the right of me when looking at the picture) prior to run. I do not know the Eunice family other than from following the newspaper when the tragic event happened in 2011. James Eunice was 17 when he drowned in a pond where he had been duck hunting. The event shook the local community. Many drivers search the pond for days. Eventually, the body was found. Very emotional experience meeting this lady today. I am a mother of a son and he is my WHOLE heart! Can't ever imagine having to deal of such a tragedy.

Are you having trouble adjusting to warmer temperatures? Does weather effect how you run? I run better in cooler temps!
How do you choose races you run? What race supports? distance of race? location? t-shirt? medal?
