ANSWER IS.... YOU ALWAYS RUN IN THE RAIN! When I was new to running, I made the silly mistake (or you may say the novice mistake) of asking the race director of a local 5k how we would be notified of the race cancellation since major rain was in the forecast. I was informed that rain NEVER cancels a race!!!!! That Lighting may only delay a race start!!! LOL! I have to say, I did show up for the race and I actually truly enjoyed running in the rain! I felt like a beast!!!! For some reason, running in the rain makes for feel fierce! I recently read this article (click on the word article to see-for some reason I can make article a different color) written by Christine Luff on tips for running in the rain. These tips are actually great!!!! Will consider some that I haven't in the past like wearing my old shoes to the race and checking prior and switching to race shoes just prior to starting!
ANSWER IS..... ALWAYS RUN IN THE MORNING! I find that it is better to run in the morning! This way the run and work out is completed for the day. I tend to get up at 3:30-3:45am and work out until 4:45-5am. With being a mom to a 5 year old, a wife, and working full-time, morning work outs allow me not to miss a run or work out. Otherwise, life stuff gets in the way and before you know it, the day is over! No more hours to get run in! It is a struggle at times. I read this article (click on the word article to see-for some reason I can make article a different color) by Jenna Bergen Southerland titled "25 Thoughts Every Early-Morning Exerciser Has." I know that I have or had at least thought about half of these!!! In fact, many of these run through my head on a daily basis!! LOL!
This is a short post, but it was a busy work day and it is late..... until next time.....
Do you run in the rain? snow? What type of weather would deter you from running?
Do you run in the morning? If yes, what thoughts run through your head when trying to get out of bed? I want to hear!
