Yes, today was a FABULOUS day of turning 43!!! Obviously my boss and co-workers know me all too well and bought me these AMAZING smallcakes cupcakes!!!! All my friends and family know I can not turn down a cupcake!!! Cupcakes truly make any day super fabulous!!!!
BUT it doesn't end there!!! If you read post yesterday, I stated a birthday wish list. And.... I stated that the BEST gift ever would be a paid registration to the Savannah Rock n Roll half marathon! NEVER in a million years did I expect to actually received this for a birthday gift, WELL, my sly boss and co-workers actually signed me up and paid my registration in full!! How AWESOME is that?!? I was in total shock!!
So, come November, I am running in Savannah!!! WOOT! WOOT! Now, need to start training in hopes to run a sub-2 hour half marathon (My current PR is 2:08:14).
Then today, I had another surprise in the mail! All the way from BELGIUM! I went to high school from 7th grade to 11th at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), Belgium. My father was in the military and stationed in Belgium. Anyway, my friend Michelle is currently living there and teaching at the same high school that we attended- pretty cool, right?!? (Well, they have since opened a brand new fancy school, so technically not the same exact school now)... Well, Michelle is a fabulous runner and recently organized a St. Patrick's day run there! Why do I mention all of this, well because Michelle sent Ben and I t-shirts from the event (see below)... How cool is that?!? Ben and I thought it was pretty darn neat!!!!
One of my co-workers bought me the red Vera Bradley wallet below. It is just like my old worn out wallet that you see in the picture below. Yes, it is worn out because no matter how many times I've tried other wallets, this style wallet is the only wallet that holds all my stuff that I HAVE to carry!! It also is organized perfectly with the credit card holders, money pockets, coin pocket, etc! Yes, I admit, my wallet was looking a little rough! Ok, I admit, really rough. This was the perfect gift!
Yes, I worked on my birthday, but as you can see, it was so worth it!!! I am very thankful. And, now it is time to run off the cupcake I ate and get to training for Savannah!!!!! Turning 43 was a great day!
**What is the most shocking (but amazing) running related gift you received? A registration to a race? A particular shoe? Accessory?.. I want to hear! Maybe something I need to add to wish list....
**Do you have a race on your radar for this year that you are looking forward to?
**Do you have a weakness that taste so good, but is so bad for you? Like my cupcake problem? Please share....
