Yesterday, Wednesday, I had 5 miles on the books. My legs were still a bit tight and heavy feeling from Monday's speed work. Not the fastest pace, but I did have negative splits..... run felt good overall. Speed work is tough and seems to have lasting effects into the week. Maybe it will eventually get easier and perhaps I may just get faster!
I parked my car at the local YMCA that I am a member of and then literally ran out for 2.5 miles and back.... my map kinda looks like a snake, doesn't it?!?
My son was scheduled to have a short hike with his cub scout troop. The assignment was to come prepared with the 6 essential items needed on a hike. These items included: First aid kit, sunscreen, flash light, trail mix, water bottle, and whistle. WE had it all. But, I believe there should be 7 essentials!!!! I added in insect repellant!! That is a must here in South Georgia!!! I am no expert, but this should be on the list, just sayin' !!!!!
My lil scout and me!!!! Pumped to be going on a hike!!
You can tell from the above picture that he takes scouting seriously!
Well, kinda serious..... In the above photo, he caught me taking pictures on the hike :)
Below is a quick video of part of the hike....... :D
And, why does my son have me wrapped around his finger.... because of jesters like he did on the hike..... this yellow flower (ok, I know it is a weed) that he picked for me !!!! And, as he handed to me, he said, "I picked this just for you!"
My poor little scout woke up Thursday with fever, sore throat, headache, and nausea..... went to the doctor and tested positive for strep throat! Poor guy! He is tough though! He bounce right back after a couple doses of antibiotic. Funny how kids seem to get sick on a drop of a dime!
Well, going to get some rest...... UNTIL LATER!
