My lack of posting to this blog is all because it has taken all I have to keep up with the last 2 weeks!!! Life has been crazy! My messy (that is EXTREMELY MESSY ) house is a reflection of my life right now! Just NO EXTRA time!!!!! But, maybe.... just maybe.... taper time will allow for me to get all caught up! In times like these, you literally need to prioritize what is truly important. Oh, how nice it must be for those who have house keepers...... Luckily, my husband and son don't seem to mind the mess! LOL :D
None-the-less, today was a day off!!! Oh, such a needed day off! And, even better, the weather was beautiful! Low 70s here in South Georgia!! So, I took advantage and ran outside. I missed the morning group run in town at 6am..... honestly, today, I needed to sleep in! And, that is what I did!
My run today was like a trail run..... I definitely slowed the pace. I enjoy trail running, but you have to be oh so careful not to twist an ankle or something...... Don't need that with 2 weeks out from MARATHON DAY!!!! Holy smokes, I can't believe 2 weekends from today, I will be setting out to run 26.2!!!!! I am nervously excited!!!
This is truly better than the treadmill!
For breakfast this morning, I was a short order cook... LOL.... essentially, everyone eats the same thing, but in different ways.... #1 is my son's request for a egg sandwich and a side of sausage, #2 is my husbands "traditional breakfast" of bread with mayo topped with eggs over easy, and a side of sausage, and # 3 is mine with 2 eggs over easy, creamed spinach, and sausage (mine is the best and no toast).
Found the below on Pinterest........ good way to look at tapering... I don't like the part about the adjusting my calories! LOL!
My husband set up the croquet game and my son loves to play.... have to dig the soccer cleats with jeans and a plaid shirt.... LOL!
Well, tomorrow there are 12 miles on the plan...... from there, the mileage continues to decrease...... weirdly, I am nervous about the decreasing in the mileage..... worried that my body will decondition, and not be able to run the 26.2 in 2 weeks...... but I have to remember the following:
Well, gotta run...... Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!!!!! Thanks to those who have been emailing and texting words of encouragement and support! I read each and every one!!!! You guys ROCK!!!!
