Does any one have this problem? Too many shoes, but yet still find yourself looking at running shoes on line or in stores? The shoes that still look brand new are my weekly shoes... I run in the morning and perform work outs in my house and on treadmill, so they don't ever get dirty. Then, I have my go to shoes for outside trail running and long run running..... Seems there truly is a shoe to meet certain needs...... or at least that is my excuse and I am sticking to it!!!!!!!! My husband doesn't understand this too well..... and I haven't been able to convince him that there TRULY is a running fairy that seems to deliver new shoes to my DOOR!!!! LOL! ;)
It has been quite a hectic week, and I actually couldn't decide until this morning whether to run a local 5K that is put on the local college here Valdosta State University.... (little trivial fact, I received by BSN at this university). Anyway, although I was exhausted! Had a Headache! Felt kinda crappy to be honest.... I am so glad I decided to run it!!!! The Chick-fil-A cow was there!!!!! LOL! Never know who might pop up at these things!
We saw Flash Gordon after finishing the race too!!! Yet, another celebrity!! LOL!!! Actually, this gave me a "cool mom" card for my 6 year old!!! He was excited to hear that I saw Flash!!!
I managed to get second place in my age group....but LET ME TELL YOU!!! This chick passed me about 0.10 miles to the finish line! She looked younger than me! But nooooooooo, SHE WAS IN MY AGE GROUP!!!!! Annnndddd, she got first in my age group! I am talking a few seconds ahead of me!!! Got her first and me second!!!!!! Oh well, goes to show you, DON'T assume anything!!!! LOL!! J/K- I am just happy to place. But, she did look go for her age.... wish I had gotten her secret! Seriously, this girl did not look to be over 40!!!
As you know, I am chair for a 5K that my son's school does every year... I have been at it working hard with the organizing part! Was able to get all these letters together and mailed to seek sponsorship for the race!!!! Hoping that sponsors are as gracious as last year and willing to support the race/school! ****Fingers-crossed**** It is a lot of work, but I also have help!! There has been a few ladies that have been most helpful with guiding me through this process... also, I have had many teachers and parents come forward saying they will volunteer!!! Community support is the key!! And, I am thankful!
So, beginning of the week, I came down with a head cold! I was like, WHAT THE HECK? I was just sick earlier in the month and then this head cold came out of no where!!! Just wears you out and slows you down! Then Tuesday, my son had to have a tooth pulled! Man, stressful for a mother! But he took it like a champ! He told me he was going to be brave and he was just that!!!! The tooth was not so pretty..... but the tooth fairy did give him $5.00....
Due to the head cold and the tooth pulling, my scheduled runs and work-outs just DID NOT happen! Seriously, it was an effort to get through the week! But, you know, life happens! Just the way it is! Now, time to get back on track!
Have a great rest of the weekend! Hopefully, I can crawl out of bed and get a long run in tomorrow morning!!!! Have to get up early, it is still too hot here in south georgia!
UNTIL LATER...............

Did you run today? Any races? Solo? Group?
Do you ever have weeks where life seriously just gets in the way of running and working out?
Do you find that even when you don't feel like running, you are always glad you did?
