So, I have been debating whether or not to sign up for my 1st and most likely my ONLY FULL Marathon... Actually, told myself that I was gong to sign up come June 20th! Why on June 20th? There is not rhyme or reason to that date! Not even sure how the heck I came up with such a date... anyway, June 20th has come and gone... am I signed up? Nope!!!! WHY? Well, because of the reasoning in the comic above! Yep, a full Marathon simply FREAKS ME OUT!!!!!!
Let me list the reasons not to run a full:
1- 26.2 miles is a LONG way!!! Yes, I have ran 13.1 and that isn't a walk in the park, but to run double that distance?!?! I just can't wrap my brain around it.
2-I am 43 years old and I have only been running since 40 years of age!!!! Seriously, I am not a spring chicken!
3- Every time I glance at a training plan, I FREAK OUT!!!! Whoa! Definitely a commitment!
4- My lower back has something going on, I get intermittent numbness in my left lateral calf area... been checked out by Ortho specialist, confirmed most likely my back causing, said at this point without pain or weakness really no reason to get MRI unless I just want to know and confirm condition... but final words were "keep running"....
Okay, but now let's think about why to run a FULL Marathon:
1- It is on my Bucket list!!!! Yes, I know I could walk it if needed.... so why not go for it, right?!?
2- I would become one of the 1% to actually have ran a Full Marathon.
3- Achieving such a goal would feel incredible!!!!!
4- Although I keep hearing the horrid stories of getting through a Full Marathon, I have to remind myself these people did what my goal is and they seem to do it again... so can it really be that horrible of an experience?
So, equal pros and cons...... what to do? what to do? But, if I should mustard the nerve to sign up for a Full Marathon, the following is the race I have my eye on!!! It is suppose to be awesome! Flat! Fast! Well organized!!!!!
Yesterday's (Sunday) work out included running a couple miles, followed by abdominal work, and then arms.... tried this new arm work out that I found on pintrest... it is a killer! Man, my arms were burning!!!!! Today, Monday, is a rest day! And, I am doing exactly that!!! RESTING!!!!

Garden Watch..... corn is looking GREAT!!!!! But we need RAIN!!!! Seems like it is raining all around us, but none here in the area I live.... ugh!
