This morning started early!!! Was meeting some local running girls for a 6am run!! We had decided we needed to start super early in order to beat the heat and humidity!!!! I was leaving my house at 5am and it was already 75 degrees!!!!!
YES! 5am and 75 degrees!!!!! That is what summer in South Georgia is like!!!! There were 5 of us running, some going long for about 10 miles while myself and one other girl were going for about 5-6 miles. I am still being ultra-conservative with getting back to running after my foot injury.
Well, during the run, we pass a car dealership.... we ended up stopping for a bit once we reached this area due to one of the girls needing to check out some cars possibly for her daughter. I paused my garmin.... we didn't pause for too long and got back to running, but guess what?!? I forgot to start my garmin back and remembered about 0.5-0.75 miles down the road!! HA! HA! So, when we got back to my tahoe, my garmin said 5.27 miles, however, it probably was more like closer to 6 miles... LOL! I often remember to start my garmin at start of races and almost ALWAYS forget to turn off!!!! LOL!
It was a great run! HOT! But a great run! Time just flies when you are chit chatting with others.... even when you are hot and sweating to death!! :)
It was another day for Wild Adventures!!! Man, we are getting our money's worth out of our passes this year!!
Something funny...... my son had a field trip to Wild Adventures on Thursday with the day camp that he attends while I am at work. Anyway, when my son & I have been out at Wild Adventures, I have been telling him that I didn't think he met the height requirements for the "bigger" rides like the roller coasters and the rides that go high up in the air. Wellll, guess what he realized on the field trip?!?! Yep! That he is indeed tall enough!!!! He was so excited when I picked him up at camp that day!!!! He told me that Wild Adventures was so cool! And he said, "I rode a roller coaster! I thought I was going to die! It was AWESOME!!!!!" LOL! So, need-less-to-say, when I returned from my run this morning, I was greeted by my son's smiling face begging to go to Wild Adventures in order to ride the "big" rides again!!!!! HA!HA!
Oh the rides we will go on for our kids?!?! LOL!
Wild Adventures was packed!!! The parking lot was over-flowing into a grass area! Lesson learned, go on Sunday or during the week..... the following picture was from last Sunday when we went:
The parking lot was so empty!!! When driving up, it was like "National Lampoon's Vacation" when the Griswold family went to Walley World.... LOL!!! Except the park was opened... HA!HA! It was nice! No lines!!!!
Well, signing off..... will busy week explains lack of posting.... but will try to keep up!
GPS watch.... run with one? remember to start and stop it?
How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Hot summer? Battling humidity?
What summer fun are you having?
