Yes, that is a BIG ziploc bag on my foot that is filled of ice!!! Errrrrr!!! And, this was early this morning! But things could have been a lot worse! See, I was walking on my treadmill.... simply walking since I am not allowed to run! Yes, the podiatrist said I shouldn't run because one wrong twist of the foot could set me back farther..... well, little did that podiatrist know that I tend to be clumsy! Have always been clumsy!
So, as I was walking on the treadmill, my son thought that was the best time to bring in his wallet and requested that I count it for him. Well, I twisted to look at him while walking on the treadmill to tell him that he needed to wait just a bit....... and then it happened! Lost my footing and about fell!!! Yes, about fell! DID NOT FALL, but I did COME OFF the treadmill twisting my left ankle and foot! UGH! But, again, on the bright side, I DID NOT FALL! Right?!? So, I elevated the foot and iced it.... been babying it most of the day!
To stay positive, I was able, prior to walking the treadmill, get in a great arm and ab work out! Kinda feeling a bit sore from that!!! I am pretty sure that I will feel my ab and arm muscles tomorrow!!!! So, still a good day! Or at least that is what I am repeatedly telling myself although my foot has been a bit achy.
Ok, here in South Georgia, we are not strangers to humidity!!! I definitely slow down as a runner in the humid temps! Today, I read this interesting article "Tips for Running in Humidity" on the Runner's World Facebook page! Very informative!! Something to think about when taking on these humid days of summer. Check it out! A must read!
This afternoon, I took a LONG nap!!! And, I do mean a LONG nap!!!! Actually feel pretty good now!
Tomorrow, I have spin class on tap! 6am, bright and early! If I keep up the clumsy thing, spin class might be the only thing forever in my future! LOL!
