Ok, today was my appointment with the podiatrist!!!!! And, those 3 DREADFUL words were spoken!!!!!...... DO NOT RUN!!!!!! UGH!!! Are you kidding me?!?! Straight faced and directly the podiatrist said, "No joke, do not run for 2 more weeks." Deep down, I think I knew those words were coming, but deep down I was holding on to a small piece of hope that I would not hear those words. Oh well..... I haven't ran in 2 weeks so far, so how bad can 2 more weeks be, right?!?!
Bascially, I have an irritated peroneal tendon. The podiatrist performed an ultrasound to ensure that I did not have tear in the tendon. Thankfully, I did not. Whew!
I explained to the podiatrist that there was a 5k on Monday that I really wanted to run. He said, " I would not!" He stated that one little twist of my foot and I could really have a set back of this perineal tendonitis. I felt like the below picture applied to me....lol
Immediately after leaving the office, I instantly thought, that I might need an anti-depressant, an adult beverage, or a cupcake!!!! Actually, those that know me, my answer to EVERYTHING is ALWAYS a CUPCAKE!!!!! LOL!!!! A couple of friends of mine suggested that I might need all 3!!! LOL!!! Just kidding of course..... I will be strong! This too will pass!
While sitting in the podiatrist chair, I became mortified that I did not have my toenails painted. Honestly, really should have been more prepared for my appointment!!!! My feet did not look so pretty..... :-/
So, on my down time from running, priority is to paint my toenails! :)
So, for me, alternative work outs will be continued!!! I will become more of a routine spinner, lots of walking in order, and strengthening/core work outs ............
