So, as the sun was coming up, my son and I jumped in the car...... I dropped my son off with my parents (love them-- they help me out A LOT). My dad was taking Ben for breakfast and then later that morning to a birthday party of one of Ben's friends. I then headed out to a local 5K. Weather was actually beautiful! Just perfect!!! Some what cool temps! The above picture shows my time and splits. Positive splits at the end, but let me tell you.... this particular course has a steady LONG incline that seems like it doesn't ever end!!!!! Honestly, in the past, I have walked part of it! This time I ran the whole way!!!! And, this is a PR for this particular course! It is one of the challenging courses for me!!!! So, overall, I was pleased with my performance.
But OH MY!!!!! The two pictures above show that I am WAY overdue for a manicure!!! UGH!!! Honestly, I have no idea how to schedule in getting my nails done!!! I usually do them myself because I don't like having someone else do my nails, but sheesh!!! I have NO time!!! LOL!!!! Busy moms know where I am coming from!!! Or perhaps it is simply low on my priority list... HA! HA!
Picture of my friend and co-worker prior to 5K..... My hair looks crazy, but I had to shove it in my hat! See, after the 5K, I was going to need to jump in my car and head to work immediately!!! I was going to have literally 15-20min to get to work, freshen up, and change!! Thank goodness I get to wear scrubs for walk in clinic days!!!! Usually I have to braid my hair to prevent tangling. Every time I wear a ponytail, I have to use detangler in order to brush out my hair. So, today's solution was to shove my hair in my hat!!! It worked, but man, my head got really HOT! LOL! Long hair runner girl problems! UGH! This is why I have seriously considered cutting my hair shorter!!!! The pounding of a braid in my back annoys me!
Yesterday, my son was able to pet a snake!!! EEEEeeeekkkkk!!!!! Oh my! I asked him to tell me about it.... he said, "mommy, this snake was not a water moccasin or rattle snake. It was ok. This snake can't kill you dead." LOL!! Uh.... I don't care what kind of snake it is, I am terrified of all snakes! No way I would have gotten near to that snake!
On a softer cuter side, he also was able to hold a "chick" at school as well! He absolutely loved seeing all the different animals!!! Fun day at school for sure!!!
Have a GREAT evening!!!! I am going to get a shower and relax..... thank you for support of my blog! I appreciate it!!!
How was your Saturday?
Run? Race? Cross train? or simply relax?
Any fears of snakes? or any other animals?
