Groovin' on the treadmill! Yes, I rolled myself out of bed and jumped on the treadmill! Okay, I didn't exactly "jump on" the treadmill..... it was more like a sluggish stroll with a whole lot of mentally convincing myself that running on the treadmill was going to be SUPER FABULOUS! Although it was a weekend morning, I didn't run my usual path due to my husband and son spotting snakes along the path yesterday! EEK!!! After about 1.5 miles, I finally got into a "groove."
As I mentioned in a previous post, I tend to watch youtube videos while I run..... today's selection viewing the Boston Mararthon route!!! And, in 8 minutes no less!!! Although I am not running Boston this year (or any year for that matter), I am super excited. Between the hype on the Facebook pages I follow and the blogs I subscribe to, I can't help but get excited. I admire everyone who is running Boston! From the elite like Shalane Flanagan to bloggers that I follow to the military that run in full uniform to the runners who entered through charities! I can only imagine what it is like to run the streets of Boston!!!! And talk about a cheer squad? The streets are always lined with thousands of spectators! I can't even begin to imagine the loudness of the cheers!
I completed 7 miles total. Felt really good today! I was super pleased with the run this morning! I have completed the first week of getting back to running since catching a respiratory infection. Had gotten a little down due to frustration of lack of running and then difficulty "getting back at it." After this morning's run, I believe my mood is now lifted. I did a little stretching and then went to check on my 5 year old son....... it was unusual that he was not up and seeking me out to make breakfast.
This is the screen shot of my phone at the time that I went to check on my son..... 8:53am and not out of bed?!? Very unusual!!! (oh yes, I know that clock on phone says New York time, and no, I am not in New york... probably was a standard setting from when I first got phone and since I am on EST, I just haven't changed it). Anyway, my son is always up around 6:30-7ish.... so instantly, I think, "oh no, is he sick?" Well, he eventually did roll out of bed. He stayed home yesterday with his daddy and the two of them must have worked too hard and had too much fun to the point he was exhausted..... he seems fine today! :)
Even Alberta had a hard time getting up this morning... perhaps it was just a lazy kind of feeling this Saturday morning! :)
Had to fix a water pipe that was leaking..... Ben was supervising daddy! :)
Don't forget! Tomorrow I draw for the running buddy mini!! If you haven't emailed subscribed to this Blod as of yet, do it now!!!
Did you run today? Long run today due to Easter tomorrow? How far did you go today?
Are you running Boston? Or are you living vicariously through others like me?! :)
What did you do today that was fun?
