It has taken me 2 years to get one almost decent race photo! When I first started running, I was so focused on simply running, breathing, and surviving the run that I never really noticed the race photogs taking pictures!!!! AND, if I happened to see them, it was already after they snapped an oh so NOT flattering picture! So yes, if you are starting out on your running adventure, you are welcome for the heads up about the necessity to add posing to your training plan! LOL! Just kidding, but it something to think about in the back of your head to look out for these photogs! See, at the end of the race, there is joy and excitement bursting from your soul! You are super pumped at your achievement! You talk for days about the run and how you did so much better than expected! Then, there is the few days later and you receive an email of YOUR race photos! You are still super excited! Can't wait to see! And........ then you see the photo and only left thinking "Oh my, I look like I am dying!" Now, there are some naturally photogenic runners. Me? Not so much! Like I said, I have only had one photo that I feel honestly is half way decent. For instance, here is a photo at the finish of a race (mind you, we were told at the beginning that there was a photog at the finish line-which I obviously forgot about)....
Now, the next photo was during a half marathon that I would say was incredibly well organized with BIG signs placed that said, "Photog ahead"..... and these were placed well before the photog so you could be on the look out.... this is my only one half way decent photo during a race....
Have you had a bad race photo?
Do you keep a look out for photogs?
Any posing tips to share?
