Today was Sunday, therefore, LONG RUN day!!! I had 10 miles set to run. No, I am not feeling that much better, as far as the head/nasal congestion and still have a hacking cough that seems to be triggered by the drainage in the back of my throat! YUCK!!
None-the-less, as I always tell myself, "Suck it up Buttercup!" The group of runners that I meet with on Sundays decided to have a 5:30am start due to many of the having 15+ miles to run (they are marathon training). I was definitely okay with the early start! As you know, I run my weekday runs starting at 3:30 or 4am.... so, 5:30am, perfect! I love to get up early and get done! Then, I have the WHOLE day to get things completed! And, my "to do list" is quite lengthy these days!
The weather was PERFECT!!!!! 55 degrees!!! Ahhhhhhh, how I love fall weather.... might not last long here in South Georgia, but today, fall was in the air! Yes, I had to layer up the clothing, but I didn't care!!! Oh how I have waited all summer for fall weather!
So, the run.... total of 10.01 Miles at a 9:56 average pace. The breakdown of the run is as follows:
Mile 1-10:32 Mile 6- 9:33
Mile 2- 10:44 Mile 7- 9:47
Mile 3-10:00 Mile 8- 10:03
Mile 4-9:39 Mile 9-9:49
Mile 5-9:43 Mile 10- 9:31
I was pleased with the run today......although I coughed, hacked, and blew my nose repeatedly..... I am sure it was not a pleasant sound for those running with me today....... Seriously, I am not the best spitter, just haven't gotten the hang of the spitting thing..... and definitely, I have not even tried a "snot rocket".... although today, blowing a snot rocket would have been helpful instead of trying to carrying tissues, use tissues, and then being on a look out for a trash can along the way to dispose of them. Plus, I of course did not bring enough!!! ugh!! Non-runners may think this is too much information..... but too runners, I know they understand and sympathize with me..... LOL! :D
It was pitch dark when we started and ended, but I walked the track afterwards for about 0.5 miles and did some stretching.... by then, the sun was coming up..... And, OH MY, the black capris and the jet black socks and shoes made my ghostly white legs LOOK that much MORE Ghostly!!! Seriously, help a girl out, know of any fabulous sunless tanning lotions? Sprays? I need easy to apply and one that won't streak!! Oh, and not look orange! I don't tan normally, but my legs are dreadfully white this time of year!!! HELP!
On the way home, I stopped by Publix for the weekly grocery shopping.... 7am on Sunday morning is the BEST time to go!!!! Usually, I have the store all to myself!!!! No weaving in out of people standing dead center in the isles, no waiting for someone to move because they are standing RIGHT in front of an item I need, and no LONG check out lines!!!! Ahhh, bliss!
Fall weather + a head cold= craving soup!!!! Yesterday, I bought a quart of soup from the Atlanta Bread Company! Best soups ever are there! So, soup is for lunch today! YUM!
Well, signing off for now.... HAPPY SUNDAY!!!! HAVE A GREAT DAY! And, as always, thank you for the support of this blog.... you guys are truly great!!! UNTIL LATER.....
Having a great Sunday? Run today? Weather great in your neck of the woods?
Seriously, suggestions on sunless tanning products? Do tell!!! Help a girl out!!!!
Do you fine that you tend to run even if not feeling the best? Neck up symptoms, I run! Chest cold, I tend to rest.
